About Christine:

Christine Stryker, LCPC, has a wide variety of personal and professional experience that allows for an informed and genuine approach to therapy.  She has worked in community mental health settings which has provided extensive experience working with people seeking therapy for a wide array of reasons. She enjoys helping clients feel seen and heard.  

Christine is currently in Somatic Experiencing training, which compliments her trauma-informed approach.   She will help you orient to the source of your struggles and begin to heal in a safe and caring environment. She welcomes and works with people of all gender, race and cultural differences with skill and warmth.

Christine is passionate about working with parents to build deeper connections with their children and find ways to help them understand their child differently.  Her work with teens and children is informed by her parenting her own two children as well as her desire to meet young people where they are at, forming a safe space together.  Christine treats Anxiety, Depression, Adjustment and Social issues, Family struggles, ADHD and trauma.  

In her off hours, Christine might be seen running after two younger ones at home, reading, spending time in nature and teaching Irish dancing. 

Christine’s Background:

  • Graduated with BA in Psychology from University of Illinois at Chicago and received MA in Clinical Counseling from The Chicago School of Professional Psychology.
  • Trained in CBT and DBT. Currently beginning Somatic Experience Training.
  • Worked as individual and group therapist, Behavioral Support Specialist, and Medical case manager at the Kenneth Young Center.
  • Has been an Irish Dance instructor for over 20 years working with all ages from early childhood to young adult.
