BITHYNIA ABARCA

LMFT
ANGELA DEMIKIS LCPC

About Bithynia:

Bithynia Abarca, LMFT, felt called to this field, to help individuals find all parts of themselves and families to connect more productively. After receiving her Master’s degree at Wheaton College in 2017, she worked in the non-profit sector for several years, supporting individuals and families with complex stressors and PTSD. She learned to calm and attend in the room, recognizing how multidimensional our well-being is and how strongly nurturing impacts her clients.

She has an integrative approach, using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Psychodynamic, Family Systems, and other methodologies – to help heal early ruptures and developmental trauma. Bithynia expanded her knowledge and experience in 2023, after earning her Transforming the Experience-Based Brain (TEB) certificate to help clients build awareness and regulate their bodies, and can use supportive touch bodywork as an option. She began her Somatic Experiencing training in 2024.

Being a Christian Latina, she reaches to personal experience to support Christian and Spanish communities, as well as clients of many different populations. She recognizes that everyone has been provided a toolbox passed down from previous generations, and aids clients by exploring not only what tools they currently have but also which ones they would like to acquire for greater health. She will land as an encouraging teammate to her clients. Bithynia treats anxiety, depression, ADD, OCD, and trauma in people of all ages. Many of her clients are seeking support to build more effective communication and meaningful relationships through couples and/or family therapy.

In her free time, she likes to spend time with nature, bond with those most important in her life, especially through laughter, and participate in volunteering activities to support underserved communities.
