About Jennie:

Jennie Freda, BA, brings a unique background and wealth of life experience to FRG. She sees her clients’ struggles with profound empathy and understanding. Her welcoming demeanor and keen sense of humor offer a safe environment for connection and growth. Jennie brings warmth and safe connection to her work, seeing clients with anxiety, depression, PTSD and other family issues. She is passionate about helping her clients understand the biological reasons for their symptoms, leveraging mind-body interventions to manage their heightened emotional experiences. Jennie is committed to helping clients develop practical tools and knowledge they can take into their everyday lives. She champions them in getting unstuck from ineffective and habitual ways of coping—creating more balanced, regulated, and joyful lives.
Jennie is currently finishing her Counseling Degree at Northeastern Illinois University. She is in her final months of a three-year program in Somatic Experiencing and is a strong SE therapist.  She expects to be fully licensed in September of 2022.
As a longtime wife and a mom of two teens, Jennie brings a unique combination of youthful energy and maturity to connect with parents. In her off hours, she can be seen socializing with friends and enjoying time with family.

Jennie’s Background:

  • MA in Clinical Mental Health Counseling expected in summer 2022 from Northeastern Illinois University.
  • BA in Business from Miami University. 
  • Completing 3+ years of Somatic Experiencing Training with professional designation expected in Fall 2022.
  • Training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy.
  • Completed 2+ years of instruction at the Meditate Center for Healing Arts in Chicago.
  • Prior to counseling spent 15 years in marketing account services and creative project management.
